President Obama is pretty popular with the girls in our house. The three year olds are quick to talk about him and point him out on television or in the paper. But to them, he is "Rock A Bama". Yesterday I heard this from the living room, "There's Rock A Bama and his hair looks craaazy". Interesting, I thought, I didn't know his hair was capable of crazy. What do I know.

Top Ten...Movie Monday
Happy Monday! I have had a real problem coming up with interesting blog posts, so that is why a lot of times I do not blog at all- lack of creativity. This weekend I decided to start brainstorming on my top ten lists of books, movies, TV, etc. It is quite hard to quantify favorites, but I gave it my best shot and wanted to share.
Today will be dedicated to movies. Let me start by saying that I am not a huge movie watcher. I love a good movie just like the next person, but I do not go to the movies very often and sometimes it is hard to take two hours out of the day to sit in front of a DVD. I am the type of person that has paid a ton of money in late fees for movies that I never got around to watching. I have one basic qualifier to narrow down my list: it has to be a movie that I would watch again and again. There are tons of wonderful movies out there, like Titanic, Forrest Gump, etc.; but after seeing them a few times, I'm done. I'll shut up now and get on with it.
In no particular order:

In no particular order:
- Pretty Woman I don't think that one needs an explanation, it's just good
- Pulp Fiction So many great lines and you can watch it again and again and catch something you missed the last time
- Roman Holiday A classic from 1953 with Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck
- Romeo and Juliet I love Zeffirelli's version from 1968 and always though Olivia Hussey was so beautiful in the movie. Baz Luhrman's version from 1996 was plain genius as well.
- Dirty Dancing It pulls at my nostalgic heart strings taking me back to 1987.
- Once A love story set during a week in Dublin...wonderful music.
- Before Sunrise & Before Sunset Although they are two movies, they follow the same characters and are full of raw dialogue.
- Mamma Mia I actually saw this twice at the theatres, so you know it must be good.
- Juno Ellen Page is so darn funny in this movie.
- Pride and Prejudice I love the Keira Knightley version

A Popsicle Kind of Day
The past few days have been beautiful and warm here. The girls are getting spoiled with afternoon popsicles on the front steps. (These were taken through the glass, so they're a little hazy)

Playroom Spa
While I was in my "cozy room", blogging about said room, I caught a whiff of something. The playroom is next door, so I followed my nose to what smelled like trouble. Sure enough, the two little girls had gathered lots of goodies from the bathroom and created a makeshift spa for themselves. When I peeked in, Lil' Darlin B had her feet up on the table using cotton balls to cover her tootsies in liquid soap. She wasn't pouring it from the bottle, she had already emptied a large amount of the soap into a pile on the table. Actually, they each had their own pile of soap, but Lil' Darlin A was applying it to her face. They even had the table mirror so they could see how beautiful it was making them.
My first response was a harsh: "What are you doing?", but before sending them to the bathtub I got the camera out. They knew they were cute, in trouble, but cute.

A Room of One's Own
I realize that Virginia Woolf was not speaking about a physical room in her classic novel, but I always think about the title when I spend time in my cozy room. I feel really lucky to have my own space, where I can keep all the stuff I love and light the candles I like without anyone complaining. It also has a handy dandy door knob lock to keep the little ones out at all times. It's usually not clean, but that's o.k. As long as I'm happy here that's all that matters. I hope all of us have somewhere that makes us feel comfortable and completely at home.

Thinking Warm Thoughts
The countdown is on for our yearly trip to the Bahamas and our household is very excited. The two youngest girls want to leave TODAY and ask me almost daily if we are going to the Atlantis tomorrow. We don't go until March, so I'm thinking of creating a countdown calendar that they can mark off each day to ease up on the questions. This is the first year that the twin girls are going, so they have been very intrigued with getting their passports, looking at past pictures and hearing all the fun stories. It's been a fairly cold winter here in NC, so the warm weather will be oh so nice.
I always like looking at the new Spring styles before our trip and possibly buying a thing or two to take on vacation.. Here are some of my picks...
You can find this at J.Crew and although it's not bright and springy, I love the detail on the shoulders. It looks perfect with the sandals and it also comes in other colors.
Also J.Crew. The top part is something I could come up with out of my closet, but I really would like a pair of white jeans, they seem to be everywhere these days. This looks like the perfect airplane outfit, just throw on a cardigan.
No bikinis for me, but I think this one is really cute from Juicy. I would never in a million years pay that much for a bathing suit, but it's still cute.
